For the past 20 years, I have passionately crusaded for surface safety! Currently, there are no validation requirements for surface materials to ensure all categories of EPA registered hospital grade disinfectants can be used for cleaning and disinfection. In 2015 I founded the Healthcare Surfaces Institute along with 15 high-level healthcare professionals from diverse areas of expertise to focus on this critical and foundational issue. My understanding of surface safety, infection control process and protocol, regulatory agencies, and end-user needs has created a communication bridge for working with all stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions that will mitigate the spread of pathogens that cause deadly infections via surfaces.
